Environmental Testing

The Test Center offers accredited and non-accredited services of Environmental tests.

The equipment under test (EUT) is subject to environmental conditions which may occur during lifetime, on transport and when operated at customer's site

Shock & Drop Tests

Sinusoidal shock IEC/EN 60068-2-27

End-Use, Handling:

This test is to ensure the product will survive damage-free the anticipated shock levels in the end-use environment. The shock form is half-sine.

Trapezoidal shock IEC/EN 60068-2-27

Transportation Environment:

This test is to ensure the product will survive damage-free the expected transportation shocks.
This test represents the shock environment the product will experience within its shipping package. The shock form is trapezoidal.

Free Fall impact IEC/EN 60068-2-27
IEC/EN 60068-2-31

Vibration Tests

Sinusoidal vibration IEC/EN 60068-2-6 (accredited)

Resonance Search, Track & Dwell, bare product:

This test is to find potentially destructive product resonances by sweeping sine.
The identified resonances are evaluated by resonance dwell for damage potential.

Resonance Search, Track & Dwell, packaged product:

The purpose of this test is to find potentially destructive resonances during transport by sweeping sine.
The identified resonances are evaluated by resonance dwell for damage potential.

Random vibration IEC/EN 60068-2-64 (accredited)

Random vibration, Operating functional, bare product:

This is to ensure the product will meet performance specifications while operating under the anticipated vibration levels.

Random vibration, Survival, bare product:

This test is to ensure the bare product will survive damage-free the vibration levels anticipated during transportation and between operations.

Random vibration, Survival, packaged product:

The purpose of this test is to ensure the product will survive damage-free the vibration levels anticipated during transportation.

Temperature Test

Low Temperature Operating and Storage Test

High Temperature Operating and Storage Test

High Temperature Heat Run Test (power cycling at lowest and highest specified input voltage)

Specification verification after each state

IEC/EN 60068-2-1

IEC/EN 60068-2-2

IEC/EN 60068-2-14

IEC/EN 60068-2-30

IEC/EN 60068-2-78

Keysight Products must operate within the line voltage range under various temperature conditions and they must withstand shipping and storage temperature conditions.
This is depending on regional, season or customer′s site conditions.

Humidity Tests

Low humidity

High humidity

Condensation

Super soak (optional)

IEC/EN 60068-2-38

The humidity test is designed to determine the effects of humidity on the product and assure that the product will meet published specifications while being subjected to high humidity conditions.

This is an accelerated test to uncover failure modes in components, assemblies and processes, which may appear in the field during normal operation.

Acoustic Emission

Operator or Bystander Position

Sound pressure level

Sound power level

ISO 3744

ISO 27779

The purpose of this test is to assure that the new Keysight product meet customer expectations and legal acoustic noise emission requirements.

ESD Immunity

ESD Immunity

IEC/EN 61000-4-2

The purpose is to assure the robustness of an Keysight product at higher test levels beyond the legal ESD requirements.

IATA Test

IATA

IATA PI-953

The purpose of this test is to assure that the new Keysight product meets regulatory (IATA) non-operating magnetic field emission requirements.

Magnetic Field

Operating Magnetic Field Immunity IEC/EN 61000-4-8

The purpose is to evaluate products for immunity to magnetic fields including frequencies up to the 3rd harmonic of the highest power frequency.
This is beyond legal requirements.

Operating Magnetic Field Emission IEC/EN 61000-4-8

The purpose is to quantify magnetic field emissions by an Keysight product that may interfere with other electronic products.

Power Line Quality

Voltage range and tolerance

Frequency range and tolerance

Total harmonic distortion

Power cycling

Power selection error

Line voltage - slow change, swell, sag and transients

MIL PRF 28800

The purpose is to assure the robustness of the Power supply while operated at varying quality of power supply networks.

Altitude

Altitude

IEC/EN 60068-2-1, 60068-2-2, 60068-2-13

The purpose is to determine the suitability of components, equipment or other products for transportation, storage and/or use under a combination of low air pressure and either high or low temperature.
